Marten Root - Traversflöte / Traverso
Marten Root ist einer der führenden Flötisten und Forscher auf dem Gebiet der historischen Flöte und der Aufführungspraxis der Musik des 18. und 19. Jahrhunderts.
Er gründete sowohl das Biedermeier-Bläserquintett als auch das Ensemble Schönbrunn. Mit den genannten Ensembles bereist er die ganze Welt und seine Aufnahmen bei Globe umfassen neben Sonaten von Bach, Kuhlau und Mozarts Flötenkonzerten auch eine lange Liste von Kammermusikwerken.
Marten Root hat Bachs 5. Brandenburgisches Konzert und die Divertimenti für den König von Neapel mit Anner Bijlsmas Ensemble Archibudelli aufgenommen, beide für SONY.
Marten Root ist seit über 35 Jahren erster Flötist im Barokorkest van de Nederlandse Bachvereniging.
Seit 1992 hat er die gleiche Position in Sir John Eliot Gardiners Orchestre Révolutionnaire et Romantique inne und wirkte bei Aufnahmen und Konzerten mit den English Baroque Soloists mit.
Auf den zahlreichen Aufnahmen mit diesen Orchestern ist Marten Root mit einem Repertoire zu hören, das von Bach (www.allofbach.com) bis zu Berlioz, Schumann, Brahms, Verdi und Debussy reicht.
Marten Root unterrichtet historische Flöten am Conservatorium van Amsterdam und hat eine Professur für historische Flöten an der Hochschule für Künste in Bremen, Deutschland, inne.
Er gab Meisterkurse in Europa, den USA und Kanada, Israel und mehreren fernöstlichen Ländern.
Marten Root is one of the leading flautists and researchers when it comes to historical flutes and performance practice of music of the 18th and 19th century.
He founded both the Biedermeier Wind Quintet and the Ensemble Schönbrunn.
With the above mentioned ensembles he travels the world over and his recordings on Globe include, next to Sonatas by Bach, Kuhlau and Mozart's flute concerti, a long list of chamber music works.
Marten Root recorded Bach's 5th Brandenburg Concerto and Divertimenti for the King of Naples with Anner Bijlsma's Ensemble Archibudelli both for SONY.
Marten Root is first flute in the Barokorkest van de Nederlandse Bachvereniging for over 35 years.
Since 1992 he holds the same postion in Sir John Eliot Gardiner's Orchestre Révolutionnaire et Romantique and contributed to recordings and concerts with the English Baroque Soloists.
